HBO Nordic has made some of the best TV-series out there. However, their streaming solutions do not stack up. It does not support Linux (shame on them) and there are other drawbacks compared to other offerings. Luckily there are some great guys and girls out there who have made it possible to run it on Linux by creating Pipelight. These two tutorials (1 and 2) made me aware of the solution and they made it very easy to set it up. Good Luck!

let me know if you find a way to make it work in latest version of chrome/chromium. or if you find a way to chromecast from firefox 🙂
Great article . For those who can access HBO Nordic in their county like me, you can use UnoTelly or similar services to get around the block.
Thanks for the comments and sorry for the extremely late replies. It worked in Chrome at first but after an update a few days after I wrote this post, it stopped working. Therefore, I use Firefox at the moment. Will update if I get around it.
The reason I asked is I want to be able to chromecast HBO to my TV, but atm. My HBO-casting has to be done from one of the Windows PCs 😐
Thanks. Got it working on firefox, but not on chrome.
I have not used HBO that much lately due to an overload of series I bought on DVD/Blu-ray, and not enough time to view the all. I think I used Chrome the last time I watched something on HBO. Will check when I get home from Christmas celebrations. Happy holidays!
